Creative Arts Program

The Salvation Army in Nampa is now offering a variety of creative arts courses for children and young adults!

For only $25 per semester, kids can take an 8-10 week course in piano, guitar, drama, or cooking.

Please explore our current program offerings below.

Music Classes

We currently offer piano and guitar classes at both the beginner and intermediate level.

Classes are open to children ages 7-15.

Instruments are provided--you do not need to bring your own.

Fall 2019 (tentative):

--Beginning Piano: Mondays from 6:00-6:45 PM starting September 9th

--Intermediate Piano: Tuesdays from 6:00-6:45 PM starting September 10th

--Beginning Guitar: Thursdays from 6:00-6:45 PM September 12th

--Intermediate Guitar: Thursdays from 6:00-6:45 PM starting September 12th

Drama Workshop

We are now offering a 10-week drama workshop for children ages 7-14.

The course introduces kids to the basics of performance, all while having fun, building confidence, and making new friends.  Each session culminates in a student production of a full-length play.  The featured play for the Fall 2019 session is Folk Tales for Fun, a multicultural tour of folk tales from around the world.   Drama students will also have the opportunity to attend a performance and workshop with actors from the Idaho Shakespeare Company.

Our Fall workshop will begin September 12th, 2019.  Time TBD.

Registration is $30.  Costumes and props included in the registration fee.

Intro to Cooking

Though our theme varies each semester, each Into to Cooking course familiarizes students with measuring, terminology, and technique basics.  Students build their culinary skills while working individually and in pairs to master each week's recipe.

Classes are held once a week, for 90 minutes.

Open to students ages 7-15.  Space is limited to 10 students per semester.

Class dates and times TBD.

If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Cindy Anderson at 208-467-6586 ext. 1210.
